Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I use the ionic spa every day?
No. The ionic spa is not recommended for use on a daily basis. You must take a 2-day break between each session to allow the body to regain its energetic balance. Put your feet or hands in the bath with lightly salted hot water along with the ion generator for about 30 minutes. During this time, the ionized water transmits the precious electrically charged particles to the whole body. Repeat the sessions about twice a week with 3-day intervals between sessions for 7 weeks.

2. Are there any permanent side effects?
No. The ionic generator does not cause any harmful side effects on the body. The process is safe, relaxing, fast and efficient.

3. After how many sessions will I start to notice a change?
This will vary depending on the individual and their respective health conditions. People in fragile health that have to get rid of toxins accumulated over a long period of time will need more sessions to cleanse their body. After only a few sessions, most people will feel the positive effects of the baths, including feeling more relaxed, being less tired, having a stronger immune system (thus being less likely to catch a cold) and enjoying improved quality of sleep.

4. Why do I feel an itching sensation?
The energy present during the ionic detoxification process can sting the skin. However, most people don’t feel anything. Individuals with a larger amount of acid in their body (very low pH) will be more susceptible to this temporary itching.

5. Can post-surgical patients use the ionic spa?
It is recommended that the patient wait until the post-surgery recovery period is over before using the ionic spa.

6. Why do some people have swelling after a foot bath session?
This is a normal reaction to the detoxification (lymphatic and circulatory stimulation).

7. Can ionic detoxification improve dermatophilosis?
Yes, detoxification can help relieve dermatophilosis, athlete’s foot, nail mycosis, foot corns, plantar waters, bone spurs, etc.

8. Can ionic detoxification have aesthetic effects?
Signs of aging and wrinkles are caused by, among other things, a long period of toxic accumulation in the body. Regular sessions with the ionic spa will eliminate these toxins and will allow the skin cells to regenerate and regain their natural elasticity, texture and color. Furthermore, an improvement of the eyes and hair brightness is often noticed.

9. Does ionic detoxification have effects on diabetics?
Yes. Sugar levels in the blood of a diabetic person tend to decrease during a session. The pancreas is stimulated by negative ions, but results will vary depending on the condition of each user.

10. Does ionic detoxification have favorable effects on the reduction or elimination of fats and lipids in the blood?
Yes. The effects are very beneficial after a long period of using the ionic spa. The whole ionic detoxification process requires a lot of energy, and this helps to burn fat, eliminate fat layers and thus eliminate wastes and free radicals. The process also stimulates blood cleansing while improving cellular activity. Inflammation and water retention can also be diminished as a result.

11. Are there any restrictions for people taking medications?
Most medications require blood circulation to be stable in order to be effective, like those taken to regularize blood pressure. In this case, it is better if you have a session with the ionic spa before you take the medication or if you wait three to four hours after you have taken your pills.

12. Are there any recommendations for people who are hypoglycemic?
Yes. They should eat before using the ionic spa.

13. Do I have to take precautions if I have a metallic implant?
There are no particular contraindications if the implant is not located in your heart or in your head.

14. Are there any risks of electric shock during the foot bath?
No. The device has an automatic protection function. When the electricity amperage in the water exceeds the predetermined security level, it stops by itself. Feet can touch the ion generator without any problem.

15. Why do I have to add sea salt to the water?
The salt is added to increase the water’s conductivity.

16. Why does the water still change color when my feet have not been immersed in the water?
The water, the salt and the electrodes are composed of all sorts of minerals and matters that will react, creating impurities in the water. Water from the public water system contains a lot of particles. Water particles that are neutralized are easy to rinse off, but those coming out of the body will require scrubbing and a deep cleanse since they are enveloped in fat and mucus, which are sticky.

17. What is an ion?
There are two types of ions. Those that have a positive charge are called cations, and those with a negative charge are called anions. The size of an ion is about one micrometer (0.0001 µm), which makes it impossible to see, even with a microscope. The proportion of ions in the body should be 80% anions(-) and 20% cations(+).

18. Where can we find negative ions?
They can be found everywhere in the natural environment, but particularly in the forest, on mountains and near the sea or waterfalls. That is why it feels so good to be in those places.

19. Why do I have to use warm water in the foot bath and cold water when rinsing my feet after a foot bath?
Warm water helps to open the pores of your feet, which facilitates the absorption of ions and the elimination of body toxins into the water. Cold water helps the pores of your feet to close, which signals the body to stop the toxin elimination process.
